While Olympique Lyonnais is going through a complicated season, Corentin Tolisso, club executive and intermittent captain, is attracting interest abroad. Among the clubs curious about his situation, Al-Shabab, in Saudi Arabia, would have explored the idea of recruiting the midfielder trained in Lyon.
A notable return, but lackluster performance
Since his return to OL in 2022, Tolisso has experienced ups and downs in Ligue 1. After an encouraging first part of the 2024 season, the 29-year-old midfielder is showing signs of fatigue and is struggling to have the expected impact. Despite this, he remains a vocal leader, as evidenced by his exchanges with supporters after the draw against Toulouse, where he pleaded for a sacred union to redress the situation.

Tolisso's performances have not escaped recruiters, notably those from Brighton in the Premier League, who had expressed an interest at the end of 2024. More recently, Al-Shabab tried their luck, attracted by the experienced profile of the 2018 world champion. However, the case appears to have been closed quickly.
