Haut-. Morteau finds a new radiology department – : all the local information

It is the local Morteau hospital which hosts this new service.

The closure of the radiology practice created excitement and anger in Val de Morteau at the end of 2022, forcing patients to go to Pontarlier or Valdahon to have x-rays performed. Regarding ultrasound scans, the Diméo company had offered consultations every week since August 2023.

During the inauguration of the new service, Thibault Euvrard, deputy director of the Paul Nappez Hospital Center, Cédric Bôle, mayor of Morteau and president of the supervisory board and Agnès Hochart, territorial director of within the ARS (Regional Agency of health) highlighted the mobilization of the various public actors which made it possible to achieve this opening. A file which was not simple because in addition to the adaptation and redevelopment of the premises, the electrical work necessary for the installation and operation of the equipment proved particularly costly. After additional studies and negotiations with EDF, a lasting solution was found.

The new radiology and ultrasound service was thus able to see the light of day, entirely financed by the ARS to the tune of 393,000 euros. A public investment which, although it may seem important, will nevertheless make it possible to make significant savings on the medical transport necessary for daily travel to other sites, an argument which adds to the satisfaction of the population in a sector geographical location where the presence of such equipment was essential.
