It was a first: the Escames alumni club brought together two other clubs to share the galette des rois.
Because the number of members is not really increasing within the alumni clubs, that of Escames (which also brings together residents of Sully and Buicourt) has chosen this year to launch an invitation to those from neighboring towns, in this case Formerie and Loueuse.

“This is the first year that we have grouped the clubs together in this way” smiles André Rétaux. He has chaired the Valley club for around twenty years.
Objective stated: get together to celebrate Epiphany and get to know each other better.

This Tuesday, January 7, from 2 p.m., around fifty of them converged on the Ernemont-Boutavent village hall. A room provided free of charge by the municipality. Everyone pays their share at the entrance before settling down.
André Rétaux would, of course, have hoped to see a few more people “But there is bad weather, sick people and others who don’t want to come home too late” he analyzes.
For the others, the afternoon took place under the best auspices.
-Around the long tables, the guests began with board games before sharing cake and cider and congratulating kings and queens.
The barrel organ

For the occasion André Rétaux had transported his barrel organ to Ernemont-Boutavent “ in order to perform old French songs.
A raffle “with very nice prizes” specifies the manager, was also planned for the participants, visibly happy to get out of their homes and meet new people at the start of the year
In ordinary times, the Valley club meets at Escames town hall.
