On the occasion of Fashion Week, Sotheby's unveils an intimate collection dedicated to Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé, revealing artistic and personal treasures.

Until January 30, 2025the auction house presents the exhibition Yves Saint Laurent / Pierre Bergé: An Intimate Collection. This online sale offers a unique selection of works, rare objects and photographs that bear witness to the refined aesthetic and passions of the legendary duo.

Three chapters, a unique collection

The classic elegance of decorative arts

The first batches, from the gallery spherehighlight sculptures and objects carefully selected by Yves Saint Laurent and Pierre Bergé. These pieces embody their pronounced taste for the decorative arts and their quest for artistic perfection.

The lens of master photographers

The second section of this sale highlights emblematic photographs signed Andy Warhol, Helmut Newton et Alice Springs. Among the key pieces are four Polaroids donated by Warhol, as well as sensual photos of Newton, enhancing YSL's famous tuxedo.

Drawings of the male nude

For the first time, more than 20 new drawings made by Yves Saint Laurent are offered. These works, dedicated to the male nude, transcend anatomy to reveal a poetic and intimate sensuality, reflecting the influence of artists like Egon Schiele and Robert Mapplethorpe.
