A risky new practice, called “Boulette,” is wreaking havoc among some women in Senegal. These little balls, sold on social networks, mainly on TikTok, are promoted by Senegalese sellers.
In fact, sellers claim that these pellets, used as suppositories, would increase the volume of the buttocks. A promise that attracts many young women, despite the unknown or underestimated health risks.
However, a 17-year-old young woman confided in her dramatic experience. She explains that she bought weight gain syrups. After a seizure occurred, she was transported to the hospital where the diagnosis was made: diabetes. According to her, it happened after using these products.
It is therefore essential to be wary of unapproved products sold online and to favor solutions supervised by health professionals for any approach related to aesthetics or health.
