One person was seriously injured and ten others lightly injured Friday evening in the collapse of a wooden terrace in Bois-Guillaume, near Rouen, according to firefighters.
“The firefighters intervened for a collapse of a wooden terrace of an individual home (…) in Bois-Guillaume with around thirty people who fell”the Seine-Maritime departmental fire and rescue service (SDIS 76) announced to the press on Saturday January 18.
“The report shows one serious injury” and of “ten lightly injured [qui ont été] evacuated to the various hospitals in the area”he added. People fell “about three meters”he clarified.
“Too many people on the terrace”
“The fall of the terrace seems linked to the presence of too many people on the terrace”declared to Agence France-Presse (AFP), Pierre Gérard, deputy public prosecutor of Rouen.
-“The investigation is carried out within the framework of the provisions of article 74 of the code of criminal procedure relating to the discovery of a seriously injured person whose origin of injuries is suspicious”he added. On site, 61 firefighters and 14 engines, the police as well as a mobile emergency and resuscitation structure (SMUR) were deployed, according to SDIS 76.
