For about ten days, the RD56 East blocked to traffic. This departmental road between Delasse and Couville (Manche) is frequented by nearly 5,000 vehicles on average daily.
Traffic remains fluid
It is closed from the Bourg Neuf crossroads to the Paris-Cherbourg SNCF line bridge, about 300 meters. Only local residents and emergency vehicles can use this road. There DETOUR takes users through the Talfaret crossroads.
Generally speaking, traffic remains fluid even if sometimes, during rush hours as is already normally the case in this location, a long line of vehicles is created. No more problems than that.
-Remember that this closure is necessary to allow Enedis teams to work on the high voltage line. “There are 2.1 km that were above ground which will be removed and we are recreating an underground network over 3.7 km. Previously, aerial networks were drawn in a straight line across fields. Now, we follow the roads, on the public domain, it is easier to intervene afterwards,” explained the representative of Enedis Normandie at the end of December.
