His name is not unknown, often linked in Villeneuve minds to that of Jérôme Cahuzac, through his father Lamine. He himself had joined the ranks of the faithful of the former minister, while he was running again in the last legislative elections. But Stéphane Boukhari announces: “I am no one’s puppet! »
At the age of 37, this Villeneuvois native, dental surgeon, decided to get involved in the politics of his city, by creating the Souffle nouveau association for Villeneuve. With him, two other founders: Thierry Paris, retired, former client director at Maître Prunille, also close to Jérôme Cahuzac, and Anne-Marie Duranthon, retired municipal agent. “Souffle nouveau is an association whose goal is to promote participatory projects for Villeneuve and to present them at the next municipal elections,” explains Stéphane Boukhari.
Officially born on December 10, Souffle nouveau pour Villeneuve prides itself on already having around fifteen members and counting on around a hundred sympathizers, “who are not all orphans of the social democratic left,” underlines the thirty-year-old. We don't ask ourselves the question of whether the people who join us are from the right or the left. There are former elected officials or elected representatives of the opposition, people from all professional categories, from employees to traders to business leaders. »
No political label
Because Stéphane Boukhari insists, “Souffle nouveau is not subservient to any party and never will be”. He who, as a young man, was included in the Socialist Party, regretting the “pyramid of sections” system, is keen that the association has “the intelligence to put political labels aside to build a project. It was born because we are all annoyed by current politicians who tell us that they are there for us, while they make decisions for their personal ambition. It also materialized in opposition to current municipal management, “in the face of decisions taken that I found, like many of my acquaintances, incoherent. This is what made us decide to act. »
-In the coming months, Souffle nouveau, determined to “come out of the woods”, should make a name for itself, with, initially, public meetings and working groups by theme: culture, economy, health, the environment, finances, agriculture and even equality. “All people who have skills in these areas and who want change in Villeneuve are welcome. »
As for the list for the next municipal elections, “we’re not there yet. It will be a participatory citizen list. I am president of the association, of course, for the moment I have the role of facilitator to keep it alive. But it is not yet obvious that I am at the top of the list. It will emerge over the weeks. »
