Police Commissioner General Philippe Miziniak will soon take charge of Guadeloupe. His official appointment should take place by March 2025.

After two and a half years as departmental director of the national police in Côtes-d'Armor, in Saint-Brieuc and then in the same position in Morbihan, Commissioner General Philippe Miziniak is preparing to join our archipelago.

According to the daily Ouest-, his appointment as police director should be effective from March 2025.

Before that, Philippe Miziniak had been departmental director of the national police in Charleville-Mézières, also in Mayotte, and head of department previously in Réunion.

He succeeds Commissioner Christophe Gavat. The latter retired and left the island on January 11.

In the meantime, Commissioner Jean-Pierre Frédéric, currently deputy to the Territorial Directorate of the National Police of Guadeloupe, is acting in the interim.
