Switzerland did not achieve the feat during its second World Cup match. After the draw against the Czech Republic, they logically lost 31-29 to Germany in Herning.

Switzerland, however, retains all its chances of qualifying for the final round. She simply must not lose on Sunday against Poland. If it evolves in the same register as against Germany, Andy Schmid’s team should not cause any major concerns.

She, in fact, offered a superb response to the silver medalists of the Games. Without the brilliance of German goalkeeper Andreas Wolff who really had a great night, the Swiss could even have won. They led 26-25 in the 51st before suffering a fatal empty spell. At 27-27, Germany had to score three goals in a row to force the decision in this meeting.
