Between Annie and the stray cats, it's a story spanning more than twelve years. But the one that interests us today dates back about four years. Since that time, the garden and house of this septuagenarian have been invaded by cats and kittens. Result: Annie now shares her daily life with 17 roommates.
While eight of them remain outside, nine managed to sneak in and stay inside. With the winter temperatures, they enjoy the warmth of the home and Annie's kindness. The latter does not just feed them.
A substantial budget
She has provided them with litter boxes that she cleans every day and wipes off paw prints to keep her house clean. She even had to give up the idea of resting on her sofa, now covered in hair.
“It’s too much for me,” confides Annie, overwhelmed by the events. “It requires a lot of work and a significant budget. I have to buy a 7.5 kilo bag of kibble every week. As for cleaning, it takes me so long that sometimes I don't even have time to eat lunch.”
Sacrifice yourself to offer them refuge
“Fortunately, the Toulouse Chat SDF association intervened two years ago to sterilize the cats,” continues Annie. “Without that, I don’t know what situation I would be in today. But after sterilizing them, they brought them back to my house. The town hall, for its part, only offers to capture them to send them to the pound. »
-For Annie, this solution is unthinkable. A lover of life, she prefers to sacrifice herself to offer them refuge rather than condemn them to end their days locked up. She has already tried to stop feeding them, but the cats, unhappy, then attack her doors and shutters, scratching to get their meal.
Today, Annie is exhausted. She calls for help to find serenity and tranquility in her home.
