The National Union of Agricultural Producers of Senegal (UNAPAS) welcomes the efforts made by the Minister of Agriculture, Food Sovereignty and Livestock. According to those responsible for this body, Dr Mabouba Diagne, a true man in the inner circle, is transforming this ministerial department:
“UNAPAS welcomes the continued initiatives of Minister Dr Mabouba Diagne. This sector professional is taking bold steps aimed at propelling agriculture and livestock to the pinnacle of emergence. An accessible and attentive man, he involves all stakeholders, particularly agricultural producers, in each initiative in the field. Thus, agricultural cooperatives have been set up to guarantee access to certified seeds and win the battle for food self-sufficiency.
Livestock breeding, far from being relegated to the background, also benefits from numerous actions to boost this sector. Concrete initiatives are being taken to combat livestock theft, which impoverishes our breeders. In addition, the recurring conflicts between breeders and farmers constitute a major concern of the ministry,” declared UNAPAS in a press release sent to our editorial staff.
Representatives of the organization also praised the pastoral policy pursued by the minister: “Dr Mabouba Diagne has a global and inclusive vision of agriculture and livestock. His competence and mastery of strategic issues have earned him recognition in major international bodies. To this end, we urge the President of the Republic, Bassirou Diomaye Diakhar, and his Prime Minister, Ousmane Sonko, to renew their confidence in him, because he is capable of carrying out Senegal’s agricultural policy. »
-UNAPAS, reaffirming its unwavering support for Minister Dr Mabouba Diagne, invites all agricultural operators and all stakeholders in the sector to also give him their support.
