“Saying that whatever happens, there will be a bill resulting from the discussion is a powerful engine for negotiation”underlines PS deputy Philippe Brun on Wednesday January 15 on franceinfo. The elected official from Eure refers to François Bayrou's announcement to parliamentarians on the “conclave” social partners on pension reform. For the Prime Minister, even without a global agreement as mentioned on Tuesday, room for improvement will be proposed in a law.
A gesture towards the PS which did not obtain the suspension of the reform during the negotiations between unions and employers. For Philippe Brun now, “the only option that exists is a new text after the discussion. Either it includes the terms of the agreement, which would be best, or in the absence of an agreement, it includes proposals for progress that we will amend and for which we will seek majorities in the National Assembly”, explains the vice-president of the Finance Committee.
But he warns: “If all this is buried, then we will table a motion of censure, (…) it will be adopted and the Bayrou government will fall.” But beyond the will of the tenant of Matignon, Philippe Brun highlights the importance of mobilization: “The age proposal must be proposed and the success of these negotiations will also depend a lot on the social movement.”
He also recalls that his party is still looking for a global agreement by January 30 with the Bayrou government on the budget. “If there is none, then there will be censorship”is already considering the Norman elected official.
