A 28-year-old young man, who disappeared after announcing his intention to commit suicide, was finally found by the police. He was entrusted to the Guadeloupe University Hospital where he was taken care of.

It's a story that could have had a dramatic ending… A tragedy avoided thanks to the mobilization of law enforcement, told by the gendarmes.

Monday January 13, around 8 a.m., a family from Anse-Bertrand reported the disappearance of their son, aged 28. The young man apparently left the marital home admitting that he intended to end his life.

Immediately, several units from the Moule gendarmerie company got involved in the effort to find this suicidal person.

Significant resources have been deployed, including a helicopter and two dog teams of civil security, also present to carry out the research.

After 2 hours, the young man was discovered at Pointe de la Grande Vigie, in Anse-Bertrand, with two knives in his hands. It will take the intervention of gendarmerie negotiators to reason with the young man and get him to be taken care of by the brigade, at 2:30 p.m., with the aim of having him hospitalized.
