During these discussions, the Spanish Commissioner General of Intelligence praised the exceptional level of cooperation with the Kingdom of Morocco, represented by the DGST, emphasizing that Spain was able to thwart dangerous terrorist projects thanks to decisive and highly reliable information provided by the services of the Moroccan DGST.
The Spanish official also expressed, according to the same press release, his country’s wish to continue to benefit from the support offered by the DGST in the fight against terrorism, particularly in the current global context marked by growing, complex and interconnected security challenges. . He reiterated the importance of strengthening joint operations and simultaneous arrests carried out by the security services of the two countries within extremist circles, whether in Morocco or Spain.
The discussions revealed a convergence of views on the need to strengthen and intensify joint security cooperation mechanisms in various areas, including the fight against terrorism and violent extremism, in order to address common threats to the security of the two neighboring countries.
