The paper version of the Official advice sheet (FAO) has not said his last word. While the Vaud Council of State announced, at the beginning of July, its desire to turn to the digital platform of the State Secretariat for the Economy (Seco) by the first half of 2025, an outcry took place in within the Grand Council, with deputies outraged by this way of acting. Especially since the period is particularly tumultuous for the press. To counter the government’s will, a motion from PLR elected official Sergei Aschwanden collected 86 signatures from all parties, calling for a moratorium until 2030 to protect the FAO..

After a passage in committee, the subject therefore returned to the table this Tuesday at the Grand Council with, as a new proposal from the executive, to maintain the printed version of this publication until the end of 2028. If the majority of right-wing elected officials voted to introduce this text, the left was more reluctant, with divided opinions. “This new decree only postpones the death sentence of FAOregrets Rebecca Joly, head of the environmental group. After all, we must nevertheless note the fact that this decision allows a little more time for all those involved to adapt.”
