(Keystone-ATS) From January 20, Stadler plans to have employees working at full capacity again, whereas they are currently working part-time. Only a small part of the employees are affected by the measures out of the 1,700 employees in the factory.
The decision to take measures to reduce working hours was taken after delays in deliveries from aluminum supplier Constellium. The production of the Valais company had been disrupted by floods. At the beginning of February Constellium should be able to operate its site normally again, but difficulties and delivery delays could continue until summer 2025.
The employees affected by partial unemployment received their usual remuneration, because Stadler supplemented the amounts which were not covered by the compensation paid by the canton.
