A loyal reader of L'Orne hebdo sent us this pretty photo taken on the heights of Écouves at sunrise, this Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
U-turn to the south
Certainly the Orne countryside taken towards the East on a winter morning frozen at -6°C is magnificent but our seasoned hiker was above all challenged by an airplane trace in this sky above Alençon this Tuesday January 14, 2025 around 8:45 a.m.
He also accompanied this photo with this caption: “Sunrise on the heights of Twenty-Hanaps but, something unusual, a U-turn of an airliner at the same moment.” According to the photographer, the plane was descending “rather towards the south-southeast”.
-Madrid-Amsterdam ?
Information taken from the flightradar24 website, it could be the Air Europa flight that left Madrid at 7:33 a.m. and was due to reach Amsterdam. But, as noted on the airline's website, he was diverted and landed in Madrid at 10 a.m. The reason for this U-turn is not given.
Two U-turns today?
It seems, moreover, that another U-turn took place today in the skies of Orne and Sarthe above Alençon but this time, it would be a British Airways Airbus which linked London in Palma de Mallorca. According to a post on Instagram from the Flightradar24-fanpage, this U-turn was part of an emergency measure due to smoke in the cabin. The plane therefore returned to England and returned to the London tarmac.
