Fantasy fans have something to satisfy their desires. Baldur’s Gate 3, Elden Ring and other excellent RPGs have been flooding onto the video game scene for many years. Recently, players received exciting news about the next installment of the saga The Witcherwith Ciri as the main heroine. While we don't yet know when the title will be available, fans of this kind of universe will soon have a new franchise to sink their teeth into.
The Rebel Wolves studio reveals today the first cinematic trailer for their next game. It is called The Blood of Dawnwalker and plunges us into a particularly dark medieval atmosphere. The plague rages in the valley, famine kills the villagers one by one, and no one is spared. The trailer shows us the hero, a young man whose sister will be transformed into a vampire, before he himself undergoes this metamorphosis.
The Legacy of The Witcher 3
The good news is that this adventure is designed by the former developers of The Witcher 3. The title promises to be just as violent and even bloodier, and brings into its universe some characteristics of its big brother. The end of the trailer already has in store for us some gameplay footage. They come from an in-engine alpha test, which means that this will not be the final version distributed to players, but the result is already promising.
The studio informs us that the narration will be an important part of the experience of The Blood of Dawnwalker. We will discover the story of Coen, a young man transformed into a Dawnwalker. We still don't know its ambitions or its objective, but the developers are preparing a story for us filled with fights, betrayals and gripping dialogues.
Already the standard of a new saga
The second good news is that The Blood of Dawnwalker will only be the first in a series of video games. Just like with The Witcherthe developers of Rebel Wolves intend to make an impression with this rich open world adventure. The studio prides itself on focusing its project on storytelling, so we should expect to find quests with moral choices and a fair amount of freedom of action. The title will obviously only be available in single player mode. Rebel Wolves does not specify how many opuses are in preparation, but we know that this one will be released soon sur PC, PS5 et Xbox Series.
