During the presentation of the Visma | Lease a Bike this Tuesday, the great leaders of Dutch training announced their program for the year 2025. Jonas Vingegaard confirmed that he will double this season the Tour de France et The Return. For his part, Wout Van Aertwill participate in the cobbled spring classics and chase victories on the Monuments (Tour of Flanders, Paris-Roubaix). He will then continue with the Tour of Italy and the Tour de France.

“Win the Tour of Flanders and Roubaix”
During the pre-season press conference in La Nucia (Spain), Wout Van Aert clearly displayed its ambitions. “I want to try to win the Tour of Flanders and Paris-Roubaix. This will be my main goal in the spring” explained the man who was unable to line up at the start of these monuments last season following his terrible fall in the Kannariberg on the classic Across Flanders. “After that I will do both the Giro d'Italia and the Tour de France. I hope to do well in both Tours, I hope to win stages in both tours. It will be a busy year for me.”
If the Belgian will want to distinguish himself personally, particularly in the first stages of the Tour of Italy designed for his qualities, he will also be of great support to Jonas Vingegaard or Olav Kooij on the Grand Tours “Of course. We will compete in both events with a strong team. Especially on the Tour, where we start again with Jonas. He really wants to find his best level and fight for victory again. It's always a pleasure to be part of this winning mentality and this fighting spirit.”
A unique Flandriennes-Giro sequence
Its program is modeled on that of last year. And as in 2024, he will start the season in Spain (Clasica Jaen) and Portugal (Tour d’Algarve). “We'll start with a few races and then I'll do the opening weekend (of the flandriennes season editor’s note) he indicated, hoping that he does not completely imitate his 2024 season where he fractured his collarbone and numerous ribs following a violent fall on the across, keeping it off the road for a little less than two months. “This will then be followed by a course at altitude towards the major objectives, Flanders and Roubaix. Then we don't have much time to prepare for the Giro. There will be a large block with a short training period. An altitude course is planned between the Giro and the Tour.”
