PSG's response to attacks from John Textor, OL boss: “Class and elegance cannot be bought”

John Textor drops all his punches. In an interview with RMC, the owner of OL attacked (once again) Vincent Labrune and Nasser Al-Khelaïfi, denouncing the influence of the president of PSG on the president of the League, described as ” doggie.”

To argue his point, Textor recounts a meeting held last summer, when rights were being negotiated. “I was shocked to see that it was Nasser who led the debates, when he should not even have been there, as the head of a television channel directly concerned,” says the American leader. If there was a discordant voice, Nasser would bark at that person, there was a lot of intimidation. The league president sat silently, like a little puppy. » And to continue: “The League is, in a rather crazy way, dominated by this man (Editor's note: Nasser Al-Khelaïfi). And I wasn't aware of that. PSG's influence on the League and even the DNCG is something that deserves a closer look. »

Obviously, these words immediately reached the ears of the president of PSG who decided, initially, to act indifference. “It’s a shame that class and elegance cannot be bought because that would have saved Mr. Textor from making a fool of himself through his crude and lying excesses against our President,” we slip into the entourage of Nasser Al-Khelaïfi. May he come back to earth, and to too, to better understand this Ligue 1 that we love so much. »

Tired of this new attack from the American, the Parisian leaders recalled the position they adopted last July in a letter from the club's general director, Victoriano Melero. The latter warned the leader: “We will not respond to all your absurd comments and we reserve the right to take legal action. However, we would like to respond to some of your most unjustified slanders which are particularly false, hypocritical and disrespectful, not only to PSG, but also to the entire French football family.

PSG has, despite this new offensive, no intention of taking it to court. “That’s exactly what he’s looking for and we don’t have time to waste with him,” slips a manager. Textor would do better to take care of his club and devote as much time to its management as to his preoccupation with abusing others in football, people joke in the entourage of the president of PSG. It is curious to note that all his failures are always the fault of others. It’s like he’s living in a parallel reality.”

For its part, the LFP also reacted by press release, immediately expressing its “surprise” at these statements, and specifying in particular that “the meeting mentioned, in which John Textor took part, was a meeting of the Ligue 1 college chaired by Jean-Pierre Caillot and not a board of directors” where “exchanges and debates are led by Jean-Pierre Caillot and not by Vincent Labrune”. “In terms of form, the LFP is also surprised by the nature of the comments made, especially since Vincent Labrune and John Textor had a very cordial exchange this afternoon” concludes the press release.
