The State representative mentioned several issues.

It was in the prefecture's lounges, Place Chapou, that Claire Raulin, prefect of Lot, sent her wishes for 2025 to the driving forces of the department. “On behalf of the more than 3,000 state agents in the Lot, we wish you a happy new year 2025. We are at a pivotal moment: that of an accelerated crumbling of globalization which, at the start of 2000s, wanted to be happy. The world today finds itself traversed by clashes and disorders which impact us to the depths of our territories and our lives. However, despite the unequaled shocks that we have experienced in recent years, despite the blows against our values, despite these tensions in the world, hitherto unthought of and which, however, are happening, in this instability and this uncertainty, we we stayed the course. With a conviction that binds us: that – to move forward – we must combine perseverance in action and the desire to always reinvent ourselves in the face of the disruptions we face. These wishes for 2025 are placed under the sign of commitment to continue to do, continue to serve and continue to move forward,” she declared in the preamble. The State representative then paid tribute to the agricultural and wine profession “for the resilience it has demonstrated” before announcing “that in 2025, we will continue to find solutions collectively”:

– to help our vineyard in the restructuring process it faces to ensure its future,

– to support other sectors in difficulty, including nuts and livestock, for which we will also improve protection against wolves,

– to progress on the crucial subject of water, by building on the progress of recent months in Quercy blanc, a concerted method that we will extend to other parts of the Lot,

– by continuing the work initiated on the agro-ecological transition which we will present at the COP on January 15.

She continued on the implementation of projects serving citizens: “In 2024, 300 million euros were paid to Lot communities for their operations and investments. And the State has supported more than 120 projects that have come to fruition: schools, nursing homes, public buildings, places of conviviality, sports facilities, securing crossings. You can count on the commitment of State services in the Lot to give you the best possible predictability and support. With one goal: to get the projects done. »

Claire Raulin also had a word on the importance of commitment: “At the dawn of the 80th anniversary of Victory, I salute those who joined the Resistance, for the defense of the Republic and its values, to through the Legion of Honor awarded in 2024 to four Lotois: Jean-Claude Aussel, Jean Jouclas, Raymond and Jean Mazet. Through them, it is the memory of all those who fought for the Nation, who resisted and sometimes went as far as the ultimate sacrifice, to whom we pay tribute this evening. Let us never forget that the obvious can very quickly disappear. In other times and other circumstances, Gambetta in the 1870s said of the Third Republic which had just been born that it was “the inevitable”. But this inevitable has crumbled during our history, in particular at the beginning of the 1940s. Also the Republic, we must keep it alive every day and I would like here to salute more particularly our young people who are committed to our values: the 70 young standard bearers of the Lot, high school students, ambassadors for the fight against sexual and emotional violence, those who collect for Bleuet de or campaign in associations. »

Security, health, education, solidarity will also be on the agenda for 2025:

-

Security: “In 2025, the State will continue to serve by protecting. In 2024, delinquency remained generally stable in the Lot, it even decreased. in certain parts of the department, such as Cahors. But very isolated incidents of harsh violence against people have increased. Internal security forces will continue their fierce fight against drugs. In 2024, we dismantled twice as much trafficking and seized twice as many drugs as in 2023. In 2025, we will increase actions to dismantle trafficking, controls, prevention and harassment actions. But it is only thanks to truly collective and convergent work on prevention, the care pathway and the vigilance of society that we will be able to succeed. The fight against drugs will be one of the main axes of the departmental plan to combat everyday delinquency. »

Health: “In 2024, we have done a lot, in particular by mobilizing 60 million euros for the hospital and helping healthcare homes. In 2025, we will continue to progress with the installation of new equipment such as MRIs, support for health homes, the establishment of a Reception and Crisis Center, the result of exemplary collaboration between the Center hospital of Cahors and the Camille Miret Institute. Finally, the opening by the summer of a common care and relief platform for people bringing together 15, 18, 112 and 116 117 will be an important step forward for the protection of the Lotois. »

Education: “In 2025, we will work for the school of tomorrow, a school where we will continue to innovate in educational matters, in reading and mathematics for example, and also through inclusive schooling, to ensure equal opportunities . We will also have to equip ourselves with a shared roadmap to develop the networks we need at the level of living areas, in order to ensure the attractiveness of the territory and its educational dynamism. We will lose 1000 students in the next 5 years. We must prepare for it and make the right shared decisions. »

Solidarity: “In the Lot, we generally manage to find solutions for everyone and we should be proud of that. The challenges in 2025 are numerous with regard to dependency, disability (creation of 18 additional places in 2025 for people without a solution) and support for the most disadvantaged, through the strengthening of coordination with associations within the framework of the solidarity committee. »

The prefect of Lot listed several structuring issues – housing emergency, drinking water emergency, climate emergency support the vitality of our economic fabric and give it all the levers to continue to move forward – before concluding: “Do, serve, continue to move forward while staying the course. These are the 3 principles of action that I wish for us for 2025. We are in the midst of the upheaval and disorder of the world. But we are also bearers of universal values and a collective genius that we frequently doubt. So, despite the uncertainties and fears that often grip us, may 2025 be a year of actions and achievements in fraternity. »

> Red tie, CGT tie knot. CGT activists were present at the prefect's wishes and put forward their demands: “retirement at 60, increase in salaries and pensions, moratorium on layoffs, 32-hour week, union freedoms, stop the scrapping of public services”
