A thirty-year-old was sentenced by the judicial court of La Rochelle (Charente-Maritime) on Thursday January 9, 2025. As reported South Westhe received two years in prison for drug trafficking. He was arrested on January 5 in possession of a few grams of cannabis. At his home, the police then found cannabis, cocaine as well as a firearm and 2,900 euros in cash.
A long criminal record
The accused was already well known to the courts since his criminal record already included 14 convictions, notably for drug trafficking. But he seemed to have settled down since 2014. When he was arrested, he immediately explained to the police that he had started again in order to pay off his debts.
“Do all people who are over-indebted deal in drugs? »declared the president of the court during his hearing in immediate appearance. The thirty-year-old replied that he had “allowed to be overtaken by events like an imbecile” and that he had “chose the easy way”.
