The police services of the Agadir prefecture, in close collaboration with the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), proceeded, on the evening of Sunday January 12, to the arrest of four individuals, including two repeat offenders. . The latter are suspected of being involved in a case of trafficking in narcotics and psychotropic substances as well as in the organization of illegal immigration operations.

The arrest of two of the people took place at the entrance to the city of Agadir, upon their arrival aboard a refrigerated truck coming from northern Morocco. The search of the vehicle led to the seizure of 155 grams of cocaine as well as two marine engines probably intended for clandestine crossings by sea.

A search carried out at the home of the main suspect, located in Dcheira, led to the discovery of quantities of a white powder being analyzed for identification. Also seized were an electronic scale and money transfer receipts, considered to come from illicit activities.

Investigations made it possible to identify two other individuals linked to this criminal network. The latter were arrested in Inzegane, in possession of a large bladed weapon.

Furthermore, checks carried out in the national security database revealed that one of the suspects was the subject of two search warrants issued at the national level by the royal gendarmerie and the judicial police of the towns of Settat and Inzegane . These opinions concern his alleged involvement in economic and financial offenses but also in a hit-and-run after a traffic accident.

The suspects were placed in police custody, at the disposal of the judicial investigation carried out under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office. This investigation aims to elucidate all the ramifications of this criminal activity and to establish responsibilities for the alleged acts.
