Brioude: the car brakes and is hit from behind
A traffic accident occurred late Friday morning on Avenue Victor-Hugo in Brioude when the driver of a Renault Twingo braked to let a pedestrian cross the road. But the motorist who was coming behind him, driving a Toyota Rav4, did not see him slow down and hit him. The pedestrian was not impacted by the collision for which around fifteen firefighters were called. The 61-year-old man who was behind the wheel of the Twingo was treated by rescuers and taken to Brioude hospital.
Two teenagers arrested after car theft
A 16-year-old teenager was placed in a closed educational center over the weekend after being arrested by gendarmes from the surveillance and intervention platoon and the Brioude research brigade on Friday evening. The soldiers suspect him of being the author of a vehicle theft committed the same day in Brioude around 9 a.m. He was identified following a report communicated to law enforcement by a witness to the theft. The accused was found in possession of the keys to the said vehicle. On Saturday, the day after his arrest, his accomplice, also aged 16, was arrested in turn. The stolen car was found. Police custody of the two teenagers was lifted on Sunday. The alleged perpetrator of the theft was placed in a closed educational center, awaiting his trial by the children's court in April. As for his accomplice, he will be the subject of an appearance upon prior admission of guilt in March.
Saint-Etienne-Lardeyrol: the car hits the concrete block
An accident involving a single vehicle occurred on Sunday shortly before 6 p.m. on the RN 88. The car, which was traveling in the direction of Saint-Étienne – Le Puy, was seen zigzagging just before approaching the descent on Blavozy. The vehicle struck the central concrete wall and ended its journey on the shoulder. The driver was extricated by the Puy firefighters. The victim, who was alone in the vehicle, was conscious at the time of his evacuation to the Émile-Roux hospital center. Alcohol and drug screenings had to be carried out by blood samples.
