In Mbao, a new chapter opens in the Senegalese political landscape with the creation of the “And Ci Kooluté Nguir Sénégal” (AKS) party. This party was formally launched during a constitutive general assembly by Abdou Karim Sall, former minister of the environment and sustainable development, now a deputy, and his political companions. The event took place this Saturday, January 11, marking a new stage in Mr. Sall’s political career.
Abdou Karim Sall, who served under the presidency of Macky Sall, recently distinguished himself by his election to the National Assembly under the banner of the “Takku Wallu Senegaal” coalition. As an extension of this election, he formed the AKS party, taking the name of his coalition which had competed in the early legislative elections of November 17.
Many delegates from Dakar and various departments of the country participated in this meeting in Mbao, demonstrating the party’s national commitment. During these elections, the young AKS coalition managed to wrest a valuable seat in the National Assembly, illustrating its dynamism and potential on the political scene.
The discussions during the Assembly outlined the main strategic directions for the party, with the ambition of extending its influence and strengthening its electoral base. The AKS party wanted to thank its activists, supporters and voters for their support during this preliminary success, reaffirming its commitment to the development of Senegal.
In addition to his role as leader of the new party, Abdou Karim Sall is also the current mayor of the commune of Mbao. Before fully engaging in politics, he was also the Director General of the Postal and Telecommunications Regulatory Authority on two occasions.
