Cant as a boss
This traditional post-championship race allowed the new national champions to show off their jerseys, while the other riders had the opportunity to take their revenge. Among the women, the main confrontation was shaping up to be a Belgium-Netherlands duel, with Sanne Cant, Aniek van Alphen et Marion Norbert Riberolle among the favorites. From the start, Anna Kay (Proximus-Cyclis-Alphamotorhomes CT), motivated after abandoning the British championship, took the lead, but without creating a real gap. In the first laps, the runners observed each other, before Cant does not accelerate on the second lap, taking Van Alphen with her. Together, they widened a significant gap on their pursuers, despite the efforts of Riberolle to get back into the race.
In the last round, Cant et Van Alphen competed for victory. Thanks to his experience and tactics, Cant managed to outdistance her rival in the final moments, thus achieving a great victory in one of her last races. Van Alphen took second place, followed by Riberollewho completed the podium.
