The Loterie Romande and Swisslos games (German-speaking cantons and Ticino) made 35 new millionaires last year in Switzerland. Twenty-six people became ones thanks to Swiss Loto, nine with EuroMillions.
The Swiss Loto has allowed on average more than two new people per month to become millionaires, underlines the Loterie romande in a press release on Monday. She also recalls that the year was ‘historic’ with a record gain of 64.6 million, won on March 2, 2024. The previous record of 48.6 million dated from 2014.
Last year, 26 people saw their accounts credited with one or more millions: 23 thanks to Swiss Loto and three thanks to the additional Joker game. For EuroMillions, nine lucky people won a million in Switzerland – including five in French-speaking Switzerland – during the new edition of the ‘Rain of Millionaires’, on November 22.
