The Senegalese president received a message from the Mauritanian president via the High Commissioner of the OMVS, strengthening cooperation around the Senegal River.
In a context of strengthening West African diplomatic relations, the Senegalese President, Bassirou Diomaye Faye received Mohamed Abdel Vetah, High Commissioner of the Organization for the Development of the Senegal River (OMVS). The latter carried a personal message from Mauritanian President Mohamed Ould Cheikh El Ghazouani, who currently chairs the regional organization.
This diplomatic audience takes place in a context of reinforced cooperation between the states bordering the Senegal River, whose hydraulic, agricultural and energy issues are essential to the development of the sub-region.
The Mauritanian president, in his capacity as current president of the OMVS, is visibly seeking to consolidate relations between the member countries of the organization, which also includes Mali and Guinea.
