The team from the famous M6 television show La Meilleure Boulangerie de France, which travels the roads of France in search of the best products from bakers, took over the premises of Pancossier to meet Romain, baker from Lautrec, and its know-how.
On July 15, the legendary trio of the show, composed of Bruno Cormerais (Meilleur Ouvrier de France), pastry chef Noémie Honiat, and Toulouse-starred chef Michel Sarran, tasted the specialties of the Lautréois baker, assisted by Fabien , his second. Abiba and Sylvain complete the Pancossier team.
The principle of the show consists of presenting the jury with a sweet product, a savory product, then taking up a challenge. Romain explains: “We played the Anglo-Saxon card, my wife is English.”
For the challenge, Romain remains discreet, confidentiality clause requires. He nevertheless specifies that he was opposed to a baker from Rabastens and confides that Bruno, Noémie, and Michel were “absolutely super nice, very caring”, as well as the entire team of technicians. “A superb experience” for this baker based in Lautrec since 2021 with his wife, Natalee. Asked several times before participating, Romain accepted after getting his bearings in the region. Not inclined to put himself forward, he confides with a laugh: “I’m not a competition animal.”
But Romain has already won the prize for best baguette in the Basque Country in 2018!
