A nine-month-old infant died on Sunday morning in a fire in an apartment in Elbeuf (Seine-Maritime), we learned from firefighters in the Normandy department.
The fire took place on the 4th floor of a building and also caused four minor injuriesaccording to the Codis of Seine-Maritime.
“This morning, in Elbeuf, in a political district of the city, an infant died in his home due to a fire. I am thinking of the victims, his brothers and sisters, the injured, the family and loved ones,” reacted on X the Minister Delegate for the City Juliette Méadel.
The infant’s mother, aged 36, and her three other children, aged 3, 10 and 12, were not injured but are in shock. They were placed under surveillance in hospital.
According to information from France Bleuthe mother was not present during the fire. The infant was unfortunately discovered lifeless on the sofa in the apartment. The hypothesis of an accident is currently favored.
