Nearly 12,000 visitors are expected at the Renovation Show being held this weekend in Winnipeg. The event serves as a showcase for professionals in furniture, housekeeping and technological innovations, who hope to reconnect with opportunities after a much more difficult financial context, according to them.

For me, it gives me customers, I come here to have customers for the rest of the yearconfirms the owner of Construction Drawing, René Dupuis.

Nicole and Morgan Sitter have also been won over by the event since they have owned their house for 8 years. They visit the living room for their renovation project.

But the sector experienced a certain decline in 2024 with an unfavorable financial context marked by inflation, notes the owner of MG Cabinet, Darrell Goulet.

Darell Goulet, however, notes a renewed interest in renovation.

There are a lot more people than last year, I think people realize that now is the time. It’s time to start the renovations again.

According to the Canadian Real Estate Agency, home sales have jumped 10% since the fall. And this trend could well benefit entrepreneurs in 2025. Added to this are five reductions in the country’s key rate.

Through Sunday, visitors can discover deals through more than 150 kiosks open during the event.
