Negotiations have been in full swing since a meeting at the Ministry of the Economy on Monday, at the dawn of a week presented by both sides as decisive. The issue is simple: François Bayrou and his ministers are seeking to curry favor with the left before the general policy declaration next Tuesday and the subsequent vote on a motion of censure. In a National Assembly with a majority of oppositions, the survival of the government depends on it.
