Wednesday January 8, 2025, the Seine-Maritime was placed on orange alert by Weather France for heavy snowfall.
In the afternoon, things got stuck on certain roads with slips and accidents near Neufchâtel-en-Bray.
Rivers overflowing: a resident evacuated
Following this meteorological episode, the snow has largely melted, causing the waters of certain rivers in the Pays de Bray to rise. Some rivers overflowed, forcing the Department’s services to close portions of the road.
The first to see the rising waters were the inhabitants of Neuville-Ferrièresnear Neufchâtel-en-Bray. In fact, the river La Béthune overflowed onto Departmental 117, several houses were impacted by this flash flood.
The Canche bridge and the Béthune bridge are cut.

Three houses even had to be evacuated. Firefighters and town hall services were on site.
Flooded roads near Neufchâtel
Another road linking Neuville-Ferrières to the town of Saint-Saire was flooded, the route du Beau Soleil. The La Canche river, a tributary of Béthune, overflowed.
This second flood, thus cutting the road in two. You had to be careful at the start of the evening. But this is still the case this Thursday morning, January 9 since Saint-Martin-l’Hortierhere too some roads are almost impassable due to flooding of the roads.
