These figures represent an increase of 20% compared to 2023, or nearly 3 million additional tourists, reports the same source. In addition, this positive dynamic is reflected both at the level of foreign tourists who reach 8.8 million visitors (23%), and Moroccans living abroad (MRE) who represent 8.6 million arrivals (17% ).

The balanced distribution between foreign tourists (51%) and MRE (49%) demonstrates the constant appeal of the destination for these two segments.

The Minister of Tourism, Crafts and the Social and Solidarity Economy, Fatim-Zahra Ammor, underlines that “this record of 17.4 million testifies to the considerable progress our country is experiencing under the enlightened vision of His Majesty King Mohammed VI”. And to continue: “This exceptional performance is the result of targeted investments by our government in this vital sector for our country’s economy, as well as the constant mobilization of professionals in the sector. Bravo to all public and private actors who have allowed Moroccan tourism to shine.

These results, exceeding the 2019 figures by 35%, attest to the relevance of the tourism roadmap and confirm Morocco’s positioning as an essential tourist destination and first destination in Africa, the press release concludes.
