It is the only restaurant located in the Oise department to have climbed into the national ranking of 100 best tables of the year 2024, revealed by the online reservation platform The Fork.
At the start of 2025, the reference application for finding the best addresses has updated its ranking of the best restaurants in the country, “according to a strict set of eligibility criteria”, she presents.

Like the rating assigned, the prix average, the number of reservationsTHE avis verified… “This dynamic national ranking values establishments having obtained the best ratings on the TheFork site and application”.
And in the top 100, an establishment from Oise managed to find a place. This is the restaurant “Les Étangs de l’Abbaye”, located Longueil-Sainte-Marieabout fifteen kilometers from Compiègne.
A place where customers can enjoy good food by the water, since this restaurant has a panoramic terrace that can accommodate more than 80 customers. In the dining room or on the terrace, the breathtaking view of a pond will delight gourmets.

“It’s the work that pays for my teams”
In this ranking dominated by Parisian restaurants, “Les Étangs de l’Abbaye” obtained a good 92e place. “It’s great! Especially since we had already been named best restaurant in the Oise by The Fork last year”, reacts toOise news Sébastien Harlé d'Ophove, manager of the establishment he created in 2012.
“I want to do everything according to the rules of the art, with homemadebecause today, more and more restaurants no longer do real catering. It’s the work that pays for my teams, they’re the ones who work every day in the restaurant,” underlines the boss, who above all wants to use quality and local products.
I would have higher margins if I used industrial ingredients but that is not our philosophy. Today, I believe that people prefer to go to restaurants a little less but treat themselves when they go, with real cuisine.
In a magnificent setting, this establishment has just under ten employees, including four in the kitchen, and has two roomsone which can accommodate 50 place settings and a second for up to 30 people for birthdays, baptisms and small weddings.
