The Cercle des ECO organized a round table under the theme “ePayment, forward inclusion!”, at the headquarters of the Horizon Press group. Participants included Karima Zouhairi, Personal Market Marketing Manager at Bank of Africa; Rachid Driouch, head of electronic banking and mobile payment expertise at Bank of Africa; Rachid Saihi, general director of the Interbank Electronic Payment Center (CMI), and Zouheira Belkrezia, Director of Tech and Digital Innovation of the Marjane group. The meeting was moderated by Meriem Allam, publishing director of the newspaper Les Inspirations ÉCO.
Players in the sector are working on several fronts. They are investing in solutions like 3D-Secure and biometric authentication to strengthen payment security, while improving user experience through smoother systems and better platform availability, currently rated at 86%.
These efforts aim to regain customer trust and reduce abandonment which hinders mass adoption. A simple authentication error can be enough to deter a user. To remedy this, players in the sector are increasing initiatives to strengthen the security and fluidity of transactions. Rachid Driouch, head of electronic banking and mobile payment at BOA, cites technological advances such as the introduction of 3D-Secure or biometric authentication systems.
“A customer does not tolerate an interrupted or unfinished transaction. The availability of services is therefore crucial, with a rate which is now around 86%,” he explains.
