Up to 20 cm expected in Pas-de-Calais : snow promises to fall in abundance in Hauts-de-France, starting this Wednesday, January 8, 2025. Orange snow-ice vigilance starts at 2 p.m. in Pas-de-Calais, and is effective until 12 p.m. Thursday January 9. In the North, it will come into force this Wednesday at 4 p.m., also until Thursday January 9 at 12 p.m. In the North department, 5 to 10 cm of snow are expected, and up to 15 cm locally, particularly in Avesnois. The coastline, although it should be less impacted, could still have 1 to 3 cm of snow.
Snow in the Nord and Pas-de-Calais: transport prevents possible disruptions
In the metropolis of Lille, Ilévia is already planning possible disruptions on its network, from this Wednesday January 8, 2025. It is advisable to carefully watch the evolution of bus, metro and tram traffic on the dedicated application.
Same warning on the side of SNCF Hauts-de-Francewho had already warned, on January 7, that “deletions and disruptions” are to be expected on Wednesday evening and Thursday morning. Details will be given from 5 p.m., when traffic information will be updated.
Finally, the suspension of school transport this Wednesday could well be renewed for Thursdaythe roads can be, for the most part, impassable during the first few hours of the day.
