The Landaises have a lot to do this Wednesday, January 8 on their floor. Even if it is already an achievement that they are present in this second round of the Euroleague, a first, we will have to gain momentum. Facing them, the best in this competition: the Turkish team CBK Mersin, club of the French Marine Johannes, Iliana Rupert and Marine Fauthoux, is undefeated in its Euroleague group to date. She recorded eight consecutive victories, even crushing the Italians of Schio (86-52) in their last match. In charge, the exceptional Natasha Howard and Iliana Rupert, the main architects of this remarkable victory. But for this important match this Wednesday evening, we will have to do without injured Marine Johannes.
Basket Landes, for its part, recorded five victories. The team suffered a defeat against Zabiny Brno in December. But in training, the basketball players display increased optimism, like the German Luisa Geiselsöder, still in good shape in 2025. “We really have the possibility of doing great things with this team. The Mersin team may be a little disturbed. She is struggling in the Turkish championship. Marine Fauthoux and her teammates lost their fifth match of the season last weekend on the floor of Besiktas Istanbul (71-65).
