The flood forecasting service announces a new change to yellow vigilance for the middle Sarre Eichel, Sarre upstream and Orne rivers.
Orne section:
The significant rainfall expected this Wednesday will cause a rapid rise in levels. Precipitation expected on Thursday will help keep levels high.
Saar section upstream:
Rainfall is expected today. Levels are expected to cross the first overflow thresholds in the afternoon and remain at levels until the morning of Thursday January 9.
Middle Saar – Eichel section:
Rainfall is expected today. The flood will begin on the morning of Wednesday January 8. The levels should cross the thresholds of first overflows during the night of Wednesday January 8 to Thursday January 9 in Sarralbe-center, the levels will be on the rise for the
next 24 hours. On the Eichel, the flood will begin in the morning of Wednesday January 8, a first flood peak should be reached at the beginning of the night from Wednesday January 8 to Thursday January 9.
The yellow vigilance on Nieds active since Saturday January 4, 2025 is maintained.
This is a seasonal flood for all rivers.
At this stage of yellow alertness:
- the first overflows can be observed
- some rivers may experience a rapid rise in water levels
For your safety, the Moselle prefecture asks you to:
- keep you informed of the situation, monitor the water level
- to be vigilant if you are near a watercourse or an area usually subject to flooding
- to comply with road signs (respect the diversions put in place if applicable)
- not to engage (on foot or by car) on submerged roads
