The young man suffers from paranoid episodes and believes himself to be the victim of a conspiracy. He has already been the subject of another arrest following a similar incident that occurred in April 2024 when he threatened a person with a knife in front of the American embassy.
“When he appeared in front of the American embassy, he wanted to draw attention to his plight. He is in terrible solitude, no longer has any friends. I would like us to find him a suitable structure where he could continue his treatment but he categorically refuses to be taken care of”she continues. “I’ve been calling for help for years but nothing changes.”
The mother denounces the lack of support for parents of people suffering from similar psychological disorders. “As a family, parents, we find ourselves alone because the system considers that he is an adult when we are still on the front line to help him! We had to call on a non-profit organization to help us and get keys to help our son. Keys that we have asked doctors dozens of times but who cannot help us because they believe that he is an adult. Therefore, no structural solution is proposed. Placing her in a psychiatric prison wouldn’t even be audible, she doesn’t belong there.”she concludes.

The young man will appear before a judge this Tuesday to decide on the continuation of the legal proceedings.
