Will there be a need for a new Savines le Lac bridge? Marcel Cannat, the vice-president in charge of road infrastructure, called for it last September on Alpes 1.
The deck of the structure will have to be redone in the years to come, work which will lead to traffic cuts for at least 18 months according to the elected official and will hamper traffic in the Hautes-Alpes: the Savines le Lac bridge connects the western part of Lake Serre-Ponçon to the eastern part, Chorges to Embrun. “ Rather than rebuilding a deck, we must immediately study the possibility of another bridge » had launched Marcel Cannat.
But the mayor of Savines le Lac asks us to think twice. Victor Berenguel fears for the economic impact on his commune.
“If the bridge was not built further upstream, it is because there is a risk of landslides. And it would be economically catastrophic for the municipality”, Victor Berenguel
