As part of the intergovernmental declaration of intent signed between Morocco and France, under the presidency of King Mohammed VI, and the French President, Emmanuel Macron, relating to the support and structuring of the cultural industry ecosystem and creativity of video games in Morocco, the “Video Game Creator” training program was launched by the Ministry of Youth, Culture and Communication, in collaboration with the French Embassy in Morocco.
The program started this Monday, January 6 at the International University of Rabat, in the presence of the Minister of Youth, Culture and Communication, and aims to strengthen the professional and managerial skills of young Moroccans in order to support the development of the gaming industry in Morocco.
Spanning nine months (January 6 – October 3, 2025), the program stands out for its commitment to gender diversity, with 35% women among the participants. This figure demonstrates a tangible desire to integrate parity in a sector where female representation still remains insufficient.
Thus, the Video Game Creator Program does not just respond to the challenges of training in an emerging sector, but actively acts to contribute to an inclusive transformation, overcoming geographic and gender barriers. It thus lays the foundations for sustainable and inclusive sectoral reform on a national scale, strengthening Morocco’s position as a key player in the gaming industry sector both regionally and internationally.
The Video Game Creator program is implemented in partnership with three institutions:
• ISART DIGITAL, the second best video game school in the world, which provides training thanks to its faculty.
• The International University of Rabat, which hosts training on its campus.
• The Foundation of the Higher Institute of Audiovisual and Cinema Professions, which provides the necessary logistical resources.
Also present at the launch of this training were the General Director of the French Institute of Morocco, the Founders of the ISART Digital School, the President of the International University of Rabat and the Executive President of the ISMAC Foundation.
