An Air France flight from Roissy to Barcelona had to turn around a few minutes after takeoff, on the evening of Friday January 3.
A cabin pressurization malfunction caused the oxygen masks to fall.
The plane eventually returned to Paris and the flight was canceled.

“Technical checks”
A video posted on social networks shows some passengers wearing oxygen masks that fell in the cabin. The same source (new window) claims the crew was forced to lose altitude while flying over the Loiret and urgently return to the Paris airport rather than their original destination in Spain (new window).
“Air France confirms that the crew of flight AF1448 […] decided to return to base after 17 minutes of flight due to a cabin pressurization malfunction.explains the airline in a press release broadcast on X (new window). “Air France crews are regularly trained to manage this type of situation in accordance with the manufacturer's procedures. In application of the emergency descent procedure, the crew activated the drop of the oxygen masks in the cabin, because the automatic mask release altitude had not yet been reached.”
The plane finally returned to land at Roissy “to carry out technical checks”continues Air France. The flight was ultimately canceled, as was the Barcelona-Paris flight that the aircraft was scheduled to make this Saturday at 6 a.m. “The customers were taken care of by Air France teams at the airport and will be rerouted to Barcelona as soon as possible. Air France regrets the inconvenience caused by this situation and reminds that the safety of its customers and its crews is its absolute imperative.”
