Be careful, temperatures will drop this weekend in Pas-de-Calais…
This Saturday morning, they will be close to zero degrees in Boulonnais and Calais. And they won't climb much in the afternoon. A phenomenon amplified by the wind, which will blow very strongly on the Côte d'Opale, particularly during the night from Saturday to Sunday, with gusts close to 100 km/h, the temperatures felt will undoubtedly be even colder. Winter is really setting in in the Region. Therefore, to help the most vulnerable people, we are thinking of the homeless, the Pas-de-Calais Prefecture has just taken emergency measures, at least for this weekend:
Extension of day receptions and patrols
Extension of the operating hours of day centers, from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m., there is one per district, Arras, Béthune, Boulogne, Montreuil. More raids will also be organized, to encourage the homeless to take shelter, at least until the thermometer rises.
Emergency accommodation
Everywhere in the Department, there are places in accommodation, 1278 to be precise, 38 additional ones were opened on November 1, in anticipation of a cold spell like the one we are experiencing this weekend. And if that's not enough, hotel nights can be booked at any time anywhere in Pas-de-Calais.
Extreme cold system for migrants
The specific shelter system deployed for exiles present in Calais during periods of extreme cold has been activated.
Each winter, Pas-de-Calais mobilizes 47 million euros for these different systems. With 160 dedicated professionals. And we remind you that if you need help, or if you see someone in difficulty, the number to call, it's 115.
