The Bastides mobile brigade

This is the first of three new units to have seen the light of day: the Bastides mobile brigade, which covers the north-west of the department, was officially created on September 1 within the Gaillac gendarmerie company. It currently has 4 soldiers out of the 6 planned in the long term. The latter have temporary offices on the Castelnau-de-Montmiral brigade site, which should be inaugurated in the coming weeks in the presence of the Tarn prefect.

The soldiers of the Bastides do not have a “gend truck”, these vans specially designed for the new mobile brigades, but travel to the most remote communes and are on duty in the Services areas. “Besides that, they also have an environmental theme,” indicates Colonel Jean-Michel Doose, commander of the Tarn gendarmerie group. While waiting for this work to be finalized, the gendarmerie plans to rent offices for the soldiers of the new unit, explains Colonel Doose.
