The charms of the Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon archipelago will soon be visible on screen from one end of Canada to the other thanks to St-Pierrea detective series filmed in the French archipelago and which will be broadcast on CBC from January 6.
French actress Joséphine Jobert, who plays one of the main roles, affirms that viewers will be visually disorientated by the series thanks to the landscapes of Saint-Pierre which we rarely see on the small screen.
Although she admits to having hesitated before agreeing to play the role of deputy police chief of the island of Saint-Pierre since she had recently played in a police series of the BBCJoséphine Jobert says she was seduced by the script and the characters of the TV series.

I immediately laughed, I saw the characters, I said to myself: “no actually it’s really cool, so let’s go through the casting”, so the scenario attracted me
she explained during a recent interview.
After meeting the Newfoundland actor Allan Hawco with whom she shares the screen, Joséphine Jobert says she immediately felt a certain chemistry developing with her colleague.
Sometimes, actors, we feel that there is something, it’s a little visceral, we say to ourselves this role, it is for me and this project, it is made to be on my path
explains the one who also played the role of a policewoman in Murder in Paradisean English series whose plot takes place in Guadeloupe.
She therefore says that she was able to draw inspiration from this previous role. So it’s on an island, Guadeloupe and Saint-Pierre, it has nothing to do with it eh. But hey, it’s the same, it’s on a small territory, there were a lot of similarities
relates the actress.
Saint-Pierre is almost a character from the series
More than 80 people traveled to Saint-Pierre in October to shoot the exterior scenes for the series. Like Joséphine Jobert, most had never set foot there.
What I also like about them is that they have their own rhythm of life. There, it’s telling yourself that we’re going to slow down a little bit. It’s also cool to live at the rhythm of normal life, so it feels good too, it creates a kind of calm.

The actress, who grew up in Montreal, believes that viewers will discover, as she was able to do, the archipelago of Saint-Pierre-et-Miquelon thanks to this new television series.
Saint-Pierre is almost a character from the series, that is to say this series we would shoot elsewhere, it would not be the same, even if it had the same characters and the same stories. Really, the place gives it its own flavor.
