Vigilance on the roads in view of expected weather conditions

From this Friday, January 3 and until Sunday, many motorists are expected on the roads to reach or leave the department's mountain resorts.

These trips will take place while a snowy weather episode is announced in Isère.

Throughout the weekend, snowfall is expected in the mountains, and could become significant from 2400 meters above sea level. This episode of winter cold can make driving conditions difficult, with patches of ice on the roads. From Friday January 3, freezing fog, particularly on the slopes of the pre-Alps, is also possible.

In this context, Catherine Séguin, prefect of Isère, calls on everyone to be extremely vigilant and reminds us of the good behavior to adopt for the safety of all, particularly on the roads:

– anticipate your trips;

– adapt your speed;

– increase safety distances;

– respect the traffic restrictions and diversions put in place;

– facilitate the passage of clearance equipment;

– avoid falls by salting the roads and clearing the sidewalks near your home

She also reminds that winter equipment is obligatory in the mountains.
