In 2025, the Prehistory museum of Nemours (Seine-et-Marne) will not appear not on the calendar of European Prehistoric Shooting Championship. A break in an adventure who had nevertheless known great growth in 2024the year when the museum organized a round in connection with the temporary exhibition on thrusters and the Paris Olympic Games.

Soon a new exhibition at the museum

In 2024, the event had been a real successbringing together a twenty competitors came from France, of Belgium and of Suisse, and attracting a public curious to discover this little-known sport. Through the trials of archery and slingshot shootingthe participants attempted to reproduce the ancestral gestures in an immersive natural setting.

But organizing such an event requires significant human and logistical investment. Jean-Luc Rieu confides: “It’s also general fatigue and the fact of carrying almost alone the entire organization of this round which makes me give up on organizing a new one. I hope that other emblematic places will not be in the same situation.”

The Prehistory Museum, however, remains an essential player in promoting prehistoric heritage. The exhibition on the thruster, inaugurated last May, has just closed its doors. You'll need a little more patience to find out the theme of the future exhibition!
