Rreacting in a clarification to the allegations conveyed on social networks concerning the death of a detainee and his “arrival in a state of death at the hospital”, the prison administration specifies that the person concerned suffered from a chronic heart disease and was placed under continuous medical surveillance.
The inmate “was urgently transferred to hospital on January 1, 2025 after suffering a health crisis which resulted in his death as noted in the death certificate,” underlines the same source, noting that the competent public prosecutor’s office and the detainee’s family have been informed about this.
She recalled that “the person concerned received a family visit on December 31, 2024, a day during which his state of health was normal”noting that“he had undergone a series of medical examinations within the establishment as well as at the public hospital, the last dating from the 23rd of the same month”.
Considering “the seriousness of the false allegations”, the management of the establishment decided to file a complaint with the competent judicial authorities.
